Here is an except from Wikipedia:
Power ultimately corrupted this early Green Lantern, as he attempted to rule over mankind, which forced the Guardians to cause his ring to manifest a weakness to wood, the material from which most Earth weapons of the time were fashioned.

The “early Green Lantern”who attempted to rule mankind was NOT Alan Scott. It was Yalan Gur.

Please, get your facts right. Read more about Yalan Gur and how the Wood weakness was developed in Green Lantern v3 Issue 19 from Dec. 91

To all the people who go on about how GLTAS is the best, with no comic knowledge.
Awww, your butthurt is adorable.
Also, if you read comics, while Hal isn’t official considered a Green Lantern, he still wears a ring, and has the powers, so technically, you just proved yourself to be an elitist idiot.
CONFIRMED PHOTO OF OP:

I would like to say to the OP that it is very possible for people to like both the comics AND cartoon series?
Hell, I even like the movie. (There, I said it) That’s what got me into the series in the first place, for crying out loud. And guess what? I love ALL THREE iterations equally.
I think someone’s jimmies are rustled, tbqh. Because heaven forbid someone be a fan of an interpretation that doesn’t adhere to the source material.
^^^What oh-larfleeze said. Also: FAIL, Aya did exist in the comic books, Hal and Guy just blew her up/crashed her a few pages afterwards. Also, I highly doubt anyone is silly enough to believe GLTAS is canon comicbook-wise. Just like the YJ, BTAS, STAS, TT, JL, JLU, or any other show.
I never said no one could not be a fan of anything. It is very possible for anyone to like any permeation or combination of things. Comic books and TV shows are no exception to this. What we think is cool, or not cool is completely subjective. All the opinions about this post are as valid as my own; everyone is entitled to one. Yes, I do read the comics. Yes, I do watch GLTAS. Yes, I enjoy them both. This is more of a social commentary on the GLTAS elitists, and, yes, they exist and they are out there.
That being said:
Aya no longer exists in the comics as “it/she” was crashed/destroyed by ‘Wog in War of the GL’s. Also on this note, I meant the spaceship/AI not the humanoid character but I suppose that isn’t indicated in the original post. While Hal does have a ring that does all the things a GL ring would do, he has no affiliation with the Green Lantern Corps or the Guardians of the Universe at present.
I apologise if I’ve fired up some people, as I obviously have. At the end of the day, we’re all members of the greater Green Lantern fandom.

How DC can make a decent Green Lantern movie.
- Sell the rights of Green Lantern to Marvel.
- Get Marvel studios to make the movie.
-
How I would make a GL2 movie:
Introduce Guy Gardner as the Green LanternRed Lantern Corps = bad guysSinestro Corps and GL corps team up to take them downSinestro goes fully evil after the warSaint Walker + Blue Lanterns come in at the end to fuck shit up
Leaving The Blue Lanterns and GLC to take down the Sinestro Corps in the third movie.- Make it a Batman movie.
This way, DC/WB can’t screw it up.

The Flash #1-9 by Francis Manapul
The covers for 3, 6 and 7 are wrong but this is excusable because Manapul’s work is amazing.

And that’s how it happened.
